Pawsitive Strides or Adventuring Paws?
I realize you’ve been with me for the last couple of months, and you might be wondering is this place called Adventuring Paws or Pawsitive Strides?
Let me explain…
I started my independent Dog Training journey as Adventuring Paws. As you may have realized Adventure has always held a special place in my heart, and mind. So, it was only natural for that to be a part of my decision in name making but…
on my journey, I joined forces with another dog person (groomer) and we created a physical business and it was called Pawsitive Strides. I am the sole owner of this business (LLC -d and all), but about a year after having my human son I decided to close down. I wanted to be as active as a Mother with my child as I am with my dogs (always a running joke that I would raise my son the same as my dogs – but, it’s pretty much truth not a joke!), bringing my son to work with me was of course an option (I am the owner) but I didn’t feel like it was fair to me, him, employees, or my clients. My husband also travels for work, and so at least half of the year I would be “single momming” it, and we planned our son and so that didn’t appeal to me either. So, that’s why I chose to close the shop.
I still work with clients from home like I had once before, and I am much more at peace doing so. I miss having a shop in some ways, but while my son is still young (as of writing this he is 22 months), we will continue to stay home and travel with my husband to jobs, so we can be a family (of course the dogs come). That is why I decided to go back to my “roots”, back to Adventuring Paws where I felt calmer once before.
